So, how does the process work and what the heck is it?

Cyanotype

Each garment from Terra Prints is treated with a photo-printing chemical called cyanotype.

Cyanotype is one of the earliest known photographic techniques. First used in 1842 to produce blue monochromatic prints as an inexpensive method for reproducing photographs, maps, documents + building plans (hence the term “blueprints”).

Once the cyanotype chemicals are mixed together they become sensitive to UV light (SUNRAYS). From there, any item placed in-between the sensitized surface and the sun will produce a silhouette.

Wearing local flora imprinted by sun-rays is beauty unmatched + intricacy unparalleled.

Nature does it best.

Some of our offerings:
vintage-inspired + sun-drenched

  • Hello there!

My name is Brittny Lee, I live in lovely Washington state & I have been studying bio-regional herbalism for 10+ years.

  • A bit about me...

I grew up on the banks of a river near the foothills of Mt. Rainier, grinding flowers to make ‘perfume’ and bringing all of my friends (and pets) to the river to play in the sword ferns & dance with the fairies.

  • Something more...

All of the humans in the photos on this website are dear friends of mine. I hope you find them as completely + utterly beautiful as I do.
